Acne Home Remedies

Why not try acne home remedies before you buy expensive treatments? Acne is the most common skin problem.  We all experience a little bit of it some time or another.  There are many home remedies that can be tried before consulting a dermatologist.  Although, if your acne is severe; you should definitely consult a doctor before trying anything at all.  It could just damage the skin and make the acne worse and harder to treat.  Acne can be anywhere on your body, from your face to your legs.

Some home remedies that can be tried for acne include:

Oatmeal.  This has been found to be the best to treat acne.  It’s a very easy process.  Cook the oatmeal, apply it to your entire face for about 10-15 minutes.  Wash immediately afterwards.  Not only will this help clear up the acne, it will make your face soft.

Mix lemon juice and rose water together and apply to the face with a cotton ball.  Leave this on for about 30 minutes and rinse.  Repeat for a couple of weeks for the best results.

Include rosemary in your bath to help reduce the acne.  This would be best for acne other than your face.  You can use the water from the saturated lettuce to rinse your face to get rid of acne.  You can also rub garlic cloves on the affected area.

Internal therapy with drinks.  There a few drinks you can mix up to drink that will help you inside and also outside.  Drink 2 cups of rosemary tea or 3 glasses of water with fresh squeezed lemon and honey.  You can also eat a radish twice a day and this helps clear up acne. Effective acne home remedies do not have to be expensive.

Nutmeg.  You can grind nutmeg with milk and apply on acne.  Leave this mixture on for 1-2 hours.  This is said to work quickly and efficiently.

Mix honey and cinnamon powder together to make a thick paste.  Apply it to the affected area before going to bed and wash it the next morning with lukewarm water.  Repeat for a couple weeks and you should see a difference arising.

Take orange peels and grind them in some water.  Apply to the affected areas for about 20 minutes then rinse.

A glass of boiled milk and fresh lime juice is a great face wash to help reduce pimples and blackheads. 

Egg whites can be very helpful in reducing acne.  Dip a cotton ball in egg whites and apply to the pimples, leave for a couple hours and rinse with lukewarm water.

Salt and vinegar mixed together can make a thick paste great to apply to pimples.  Apply the paste and rinse after about 20 minutes.

To treat skin blemishes, pimples, and even wrinkles, apply grated potatoes to the face.

A popular way to reduce acne is using backing powder in the shower.  This is very commonly used. 

Starting a low GI diet can improve acne a great deal.

Use mild cleansers and rinse your face twice a day.  Don’t scrub your skin too hard or you’ll irritate it.  Use sunscreen in the sun and keep your face moisturized. Acne home remedies can be very effective and keep your breakouts to a minimum.
